TrippyMX - WinMX Server List installation instructions.
-------------------------------------------------------
Please read this carefully and follow all instructions exactly.
Failure to do so may cause your copy of WinMX to malfunction.
1) Completely close WinMX (including from the system tray)
2) Using My Computer or Windows Explorer, go to your WinMX installation
directory. This will usually be C:\Program Files\WinMX on most
computers.
3) Rename the file "NSERVERS.DAT" to "NSERVERS.BAK". If an
"NSERVERS.BAK" file already exists, just delete it, then rename
"NSERVERS.DAT" to "NSERVERS.BAK".
4) Extract the file "NSERVERS.DAT" in this zipfile to your WinMX
installation directory (In Windows ME, Just copy the file if you
compressed folder support enabled).
5) Start up WinMX, but click "Stop" for the WPNP and make sure no other
servers are connecting/connected. At this stage, their should be a
large handful of servers in the "High Capacity" section and another
large handful of servers in the "Low Capacity" section. If you
cannot see these servers, check the FAQ at
http://www.trippynet.f2s.com/faq.html and if no suggestions on here
work, e-mail me and let me know the problem and I'll do my best to
help. Your e-mail will NOT be ignored if you have followed all the
points in the FAQ.
6) Go to "Settings" > "Change User Name/Pass". Enter your old WinMX
username and password, your Napster username and pass, or some other
such username and password. Try to make them pretty unique, and also
do NOT use characters such as ú, *, &, #, @, ?, ! etc. in the name.
7) Click "OK".
8) Try connecting to the servers and the WPNP now.
9) Enjoy!
If you have any problems at all with the list, check out the FAQ at
http://www.trippynet.f2s.com/faq.html and if you still have problems
after this, check out http://www.trippynet.f2s.com/contact.html to
find out how to contact me and what information to supply me with.
Please sign up to the mailing list at
http://www.trippynet.f2s.com/mailinglist.html to recieve information
on new updates to TrippyMX the moment they are released, along with
other important WinMX news (I respect your privacy and will NOT pass
your e-mail address to ANY third party. I hate spam as much as you do).
Have fun!
Dave.
